All Things Thrifty

Kallie and Brooke head up this blog. They both love to do home decorating and strive to do their projects as affordably as possible. It's quite thrilling to them to be able to find the most affordable ways to do their projects and compare it to what someone else would pay to either buy something similar from a home decorating store or to have a professional do it. And it's even more thrilling for them to share the methods to their madness and get feedback about other's success with those projects. They even do some consulting work on the side for those who lack their own ideas.

The projects they have listed in their blog vary quite a bit in style and function. They have everything from completely refinished furniture to nick-nack ideas to accessorize various rooms. Most of their ideas are very creative and vary enough to appeal to many different tastes. There are how-to's for their projects, including all the ways they saved money, so everyone is able to repeat their successes and tailor them to their own style and decor preferences.

For anyone who's a fan of home decorating, this blog is a lot of fun. It's amazing to see how much they can accomplish for so little money and with such creativity. Take a look, try a project or two, and share your success with Kallie and Brooke.

The Truth Will Prevail

This blog's author, Neil, is in the real estate business out in North Carolina and does some political and satire writing on the side. He takes his political views very seriously but quite the sense of humor he occasionally throws into his posts. Neil is a regular contributor on PoliticalDerby.com with some contributions on AmericanThinker.com as well. He is also responsible for Obama's Blackberry and the Detainee Four blogs. It's nice to see him putting his blogging talents to good use.

On "The Truth Will Prevail," he focuses on his more serious opinions of the current political topics which remain strictly conservative. Neill tries to covers common items of interest - Obama's speeches, Biden's commentary, policy proposals, etc. - but tries to do so from a more unique perspective than what you would find in typical news stories or other blogs. He does a great job at providing deep and thorough explanation of his thoughts in all of his posts which also remain easy to follow and understand for those who aren't as familiar with the topics.

This blog comes highly recommended for someone looking for some well written conservative philosophies on current political events. Neil is sure to continue to provide the same quality work time after time so go check out his blog.

Razzle Dazzle Your Kids

This blog is written by stay-at-home mom Rachel. She currently has 2 cute kids, with two more on the way. She's always been one who has truly enjoyed keeping her kids entertained with activities and projects, and entertains many of the other kids in the neighborhood by orchestrating many preschool activities as well.

As for those ideas she has, many of them are her own and she builds upon them using the resources listed on her blog, crediting the sources for each one so you can find them too. Rachel does a great job at taking themes and creating all types of fun things to do around them - building crafts, learning games, singing new songs, making treats, etc. There are holiday ideas and some general tips for parents (like how to save some money!) as well. And we can't forget her book reviews. She has some favorite children's books and provides her insights about how worthwhile they are to read to the younger kids.

Razzle Dazzle Your Kids is a very fun blog! Anyone who has run out of ideas about how to entertain children would really appreciate Rachel's posts. Scott's Slant on Politics

Scott is the North American operations manager at the global headquarters of a multinational information management firm in Georgia and finds some spare time to do quite a bit of blogging regarding his views on politics and to follow his favorite sports teams. He is also a contributor on PoliticalDerby.com, posting many of his blog entries on PD as well.

On his main blog, Scott's Slant, he provides a very conservative perspective on many topics ranging from the humorous and lighthearted down to his core beliefs on freedom and liberty and everything in between. Overall, he does seem to take politics very seriously and presents his perspective in a very honest and thoughtful manner. His posts are well supported by links to many outside sources of information including a nice library of YouTube videos. He posts on a very regular basis so there is no shortage of topics to keep up on.

If you like conservative politics, you'll like Scott's blog. If you like Glenn Beck (Scott's a fan), you'll like Scott's blog. If you like current and well written political blogs, you'll like Scott's blog.

Life with Jason Wright

Jason is a New York Times bestselling author. His books include Christmas Jars, The Wednesday Letters, and Recovering Charles. He has more books coming some time down the road as well including Christmas Jars Reunion, Penny's Christmas Jar Miracle, and The Cross Gardener.

He loves to share feedback and stories involving his books. There has been a lot of positive experiences related to Christmas Jars, people following the book's principle (and you'll have to read the book if you want to know what that is) and sharing their experiences with it. He also does a lot of appearances and speaking events, the latest of which was Time Out for Women held in San Diego, CA.

If you need some uplifting reading material, I'd recommend picking up one of his books. Politcal Derby

Political Derby was started back in 2005 by author and consultant Jason Wright who has written political op/ed pieces in many publications, and has done a few appearances on TV touting his political opinions. He's quite the politics junkie and wanted to start a site to track the presidential race for 2008. The site started out fairly balanced, having both political spectrums and their potential nominees represented fairly well. That representation includes the good, the bad, the ugly, and often the humorous. There are quite a few contributors to PD as well which offers a variety of perspectives.

Once the 2008 race was decided, the bloggers took a turn to the more conservative side. And while the 2012 race is still a few years out, they're already tracking the potential candidates in their Power Rankings. Since there isn't much news floating around about the next presidential race at this point in time, most of the blog contributions lately are about relevant political topics like health care reform, changes in the current administration, notable events, political reactions, etc. Most of the comments are fairly kind, definitely sway conservative (not strictly though), but can get a little heated on occasion.

There's a feeling of camaraderie on PD since a lot of those that follow it have done so for quite a while so they're well acquainted with each other. They're pretty welcoming to new followers too. They also have little competitions now and then that people can participate in such as fantasy football groups, NCAA March Madness (which I've won two years in a row), etc.

So if you're interested in the more conservative side of politics, this blog is a must. It can be appreciated by most anyone with a sense of humor, at least some knowledge about what's going on in the political world, and likes to enjoy opinions from others. She's Crafty!

The author of this blog, Rachelle, does it all! She started the blog as a way to cope with severe postpartum depression after the birth of her first child. She found doing various types of crafts helped her overcome her depression and wanted to share her experience with others in case they found themselves in similar situations.

As for the content of her blog, she's got it ALL covered. If there's a way to be crafty, she does it - everything from your usual scrapbooking and photography to furniture refurbishing and wood crafts to fashion and baby ideas. Her labeling approach is fairly specific which makes it easy to find ideas. There are some very unique ideas all throughout her blog so I recommend spending some time looking around.

Rachelle also has an online store where she sells nursing covers called Charlie Cloths. They're a little different than your average nursing covers because you can actually see your baby while he or she nurses. And one more thing she likes to do is feature some of her other favorite blogs. It seems like crafters stick together and like to celebrate each other's work, and she's no different. There are so many excellent blogs to be enjoyed out on the world wide web now days, and it seems the more I blog the more quality blogs I come across. So I wanted to create a resource for everyone's blogs to be shared and enjoyed.

I do have a few rules about the blogs I plan to feature here. They are:

1 - Family Friendly: I want to ensure that the more conservative followers of this blog aren't surprised by any rather offensive content on any sites listed here. So if a requested or recommended blog seems too questionable to make it, I'll let the author know why it wasn't posted.

2 - Non-Personal: I will not list anybody's personal blog. It must have content that is either useful or entertaining to others, not your family or personal life. I don't want to be responsible for contributing to some of the strange stories you hear about concerning what happens to people's personal blogs.

3 - Notification or Permission of Author: I will only post a blog if the author has either given me permission to list it or if I've provided proper notification to the author and allowed them sufficient opportunity to decline being featured. So if there is a cool blog that you'd like to have listed please either contact the blog's author or email me the link and I will try to contact him or her.

4 - Twice a Day: Due to time constraints, I will only be featuring up to two blogs per day. There may be times where it might only be one or none depending on my time availability. I will also be posting based on the order in which I receive requests. So if you've submitted a request to have your blog featured and you don't see it yet, please be patient because it will get posted provided it meets the other requirements.
